Our marketing systems and processes are functional, but we’re expanding our team to enable us to scale and have an even greater impact. We’re looking for someone to help continue to build, operate, and evolve our approach to executing and understanding our marketing efforts. 

You’ll manage marketing website updates, working directly with our Frontend Engineering team to help determine what gets worked on when, serving as the “business owner” for questions they might have. You’ll also make changes within our content management system and help drive any marketing projects related to the Backblaze website. Part of managing the ongoing website updates is quality assurance. 

For most marketing updates, you’ll be responsible for testing (and/or coordinating testing) to ensure everything works as expected on our staging environments. This means you have a thorough knowledge of Salesforce and Hubspot to ensure proper tracking is in place and the lead pass is functioning as expected. 

In addition, you’ll support maintaining day-to-day lead flow to Hubspot and Salesforce, as well as collaborate on key projects to consolidate data from disparate systems into a single platform to power Backblaze growth and marketing opportunities. Finally, you’ll work closely with various teams to assess, prioritize, scope, and implement key projects that relate to the overall lead process, website, data mapping, platform consolidation, and MarTech integrations.

We need someone that can work with the larger Marketing team to understand what we’re trying to achieve, support, and enhance the processes for achieving those outcomes, and take a hands on approach to implementation.

This San Mateo-based position (when we can all safely return to the office) reports to our Director of Marketing Operations.

 

What You'll Do: 

  • Manage marketing-driven website updates and projects.
    • Be the liaison between Marketing and Frontend engineering, prioritizing what gets worked on when and be the “business owner” for questions they might have.
    • Work directly with Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, and other groups to understand the changes required. 
    • Use your attention to detail to validate content and updates are accurate in multiple environments—(staging environment, production environment, multiple browsers).
    • Roll up your sleeves and work within our Content Management System to implement new/update existing website content.
    • Help to ensure all marketing website requests are delivered on-time and to spec.
    • Coordinate with web development (frontend engineering), growth, and sales ops teams on top of funnel lead collection, optimizing, and maintaining lead flow processes within Salesforce and Hubspot. 
  • Manage marketing campaign setups and testing in Salesforce. Work with our Sales Ops teams to ensure precision in lead management, seamless handoff, and generally find solutions when needed.
  • Have a direct impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of Backblaze marketing efforts through improved integration, process, communication, execution, and alignment with internal teams. 
  • Ensure that technology and automation are integrated and deployed effectively, data is tracked properly, and communication is consistent. 
  • Work with other teams on integrating/implementing solutions or technologies, for ongoing marketing operations support as well as gather requirements on changes and improvements to meet business needs.  
  • Help manage marketing tech-stack, implementation, integrations, and infrastructure
  • Work with Analytics and Reporting teams as required.
  • Document processes when necessary. 
  • Troubleshoot/solve issues as they arise.
  • Work closely with fun colleagues across marketing, engineering, and sales.

The Right Fit:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Possess the right amount of experience. We need someone that will come in and immediately start moving us forward. That might mean you have 5 years of experience or 10… if you can jump into existing systems and move us forward, we’re excited!
  • High level of proficiency in Salesforce. 
  • Demonstrable experience in partnering with marketing and web development teams to deliver business outcomes.
  • High level of proficiency in at least one of the major marketing automation systems, with a strong preference for Hubspot experience.
  • Skilled at figuring out how the puzzle pieces fit together. We need someone that can work with the larger Marketing team to understand what we’re trying to achieve, help design and/or enhance processes and solutions for achieving those outcomes, and take a hands-on approach to implementation.
  • Adaptable and capable of balancing multiple deliverables at once and executing content against the calendar. 
  • Great teammate with superb communication skills.
  • Highly responsive to internal team members and key partners across the business, and able to articulate issues to both technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally. 
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
