Backblaze is looking for an energetic IT Intern that will help the IT department perform day-to-day activities in technical support, troubleshooting, onboarding/offboarding and special projects. This opportunity will be both educational and practical. The ideal candidate will be personable and have a strong interest in helping to support the IT Corporate function. If you’re interested in kickstarting your career in IT and getting a closer look into our company, we’d like to meet you.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with the IT Team to help with day-to-day operations
• Provide entry-level technical support and customer service on routine issues
• Monitor Slack IT channel for first level support
• Contribute to projects to bring in new capabilities and drive efficiency for the IT Department
• Help with IT onboarding and offboarding
• Assist with laptop inventory and maintenance

What the internship will provide you:

• Learn to configure and troubleshoot macOS and Windows systems in an Enterprise environment

• Exposure to the latest technology in the workplace
• Opportunity to do hands on technical support and customer service
• Corporate IT work experience
• Exposure to a wide variety of IT projects (Service Desk, Business Systems, Security, etc.)
• Work side-by-side with highly experienced teams/cross-functional departments

Qualifications:

• Current undergraduate or graduate student interested in IT
• You are actively enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited institution and have completed at least one year of education
• You are able to fully commit to an 8 or 12-week (40 hours per week) internship
• You must be at least 18+ years of age at the start of the internship
• You must be local to the San Francisco area
• Familiar with the following: macOs, Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, Okta (not necessary but nice to have)
• Must be eligible to work in the US and will not require future sponsorship
• Self-motivated, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
