But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We are seeking a Sr. QA Engineer - Manual to join our growing team!

We are conveniently located near CalTrain, and Highways 280 and 101. We also offer a flexible schedule so employees can work remotely when necessary.

What Youíll Do:

  • An experienced professional software QA engineer well-versed in SDLC processes who comes from a technical background.
  • Ability to take initiative is a must, such as suggesting and completing test plans without being prompted. Able to design and execute test scenarios for new software features.
  • Can perform functional testing, either via the webui or via API testing, as needed. Performs regression testing before weekly software releases. Will be testing on Mac and Windows hosts running multiple browsers. Will test native Backblaze applications on both Mac and Windows.
  • Identify, record and document reproducible steps thoroughly and track defects to resolution. Interact with developers to resolve defects, clarify functionality and resolve usability issues. Perform verification testing of fixed defects.
  • Familiarity with Python or similar scripting language in order to create scripts to facilitate testing. Must have familiarity with terminal window commands (ie Unix commands).
  • Experience with performance and security testing is a plus.
  • Contribute to continual QA process improvement efforts.

The Right Fit:

  • 10+ years of QA experience.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Our QA team is known for being thorough and detail-oriented so we have high expectations in these areas.
  • Enough familiarity with HTML, JSP, and the Java programming language to read engineer's source code submissions and hone in on the areas of the product that are changing and need additional testing.
  • Cross platform (Mac/Windows/Linux) ó donít need to be an expert on all three, but cannot be afraid of any.
  • Familiarity with test automation software (such as Selenium or LeanFT) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with TestRail test case management software is a plus. Other software that is relevant: JIRA, Jenkins, GitHub.

We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is $113,000 to $166,000.
