But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our Cloud Operations Team!

What You’ll Do: 

  • Work with SMEs from data centers, SRE, and other departments in CloudOps to develop internal documentation and training material
  • Write work instructions for server deployment and repair
  • Translate complex ideas into plain language documents
  • Organize and maintain technical documentation in Confluence
  • Revise existing documents for accuracy and style
  • Work with Compliance to ensure SOP meets data security requirements
  • Give and receive peer editing feedback

The Right Fit:

  • Expert understanding of English grammar and punctuation
  • Demonstrated plain language writing skills
  • Comfortable with Atlassian Confluence and Markdown
  • General understanding of data center operations; server deployment, cabinet power balancing, data security
  • Understanding of storage server hardware, especially Dell and Supermicro
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and eagerness to ask questions
  • Excellent problem solving, investigative, and troubleshooting skills
  • Undying love of the Oxford comma
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Willing to travel data centers occasionally 

Bonus Points:

  • Lucidchart experience
  • Linux command line experience
  • Familiarity with configuration management and automation software (Ansible preferred)

Writing Sample

Submit 1-3 short writing samples including at least 1 process document.
