But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We are seeking a IT Support Engineer.

This position will be based out of our headquarters in San Mateo, California. We are conveniently located near CalTrain, and Highways 280 and 101. We also offer a flexible schedule so employees can work remotely when necessary.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Administer and support Backblaze’s collaboration stack which includes: Google Workspace, Atlassian Cloud  (Jira and Confluence), Slack, and Office 365
  • Support JIRA Software, JIRA Service Desk, Confluence administration, including creation and management of custom, complex projects, workflows, security schemes, custom fields, dashboards, and reports configurations
  • Serve as a collaboration SME to address user questions, and develop training, as needed
  • Primary trainer for the introduction, set-up and standardization of cloud collaboration tools in both group and one-on-one settings
  • Maintain responsibility for administration, maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements to collaboration tools
  • Work on SaaS and Okta projects
  • Create, maintain, and support dashboards and advanced filters for end users reporting capabilities, customize workflows, post functions, and validators, make changes to workflows, screens, fields, and reporting, and provide ongoing support and configuration maintenance
  • Acquire a full understanding of the organization and workflow requirements in order to develop, communicate and execute a mid-to-long term roadmap and strategy for the utilization of collaboration products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization, gather requirements to develop, and deliver custom solutions using existing SaaS tools
  • Evaluate plugins from the various collaboration tool marketplaces and deploy as needed.
  • Analyze, review, and document current functionality to determine potential areas of improvement
  • Review and improve security and compliance within collaboration platforms and 
  • Direct communication and problem resolution with the vendor on all security, and performance issues
  • Responsible for all organizational administrative tasks to support the SaaS collaboration platforms in addition to other applications of responsibility. This includes establishing roles and permissions, establishing workflow and process models, archiving procedures, and licensing requirements.

The Right Fit:

  • 5+ years of experience with Google Workspace, Atlassian, and Slack including experience customizing solutions for internal stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of technical workflows, performance metrics creation and utilization, project management concepts, and process improvement methodologies
  • Ability to effectively instruct the utilization of collaboration platforms to a technical and non-technical audience
  • Capable of designing and implementing practices, processes, and procedures that effectively utilize people and technology
  • Knowledge of SSO integrations with Okta
  • Highly effective in working independently and with teams
