About Backblaze

Backblaze is a public company that makes storing and using data astonishingly easy. When our founding team got together, they committed to helping people save their data. Today, the Backblaze Storage Cloud provides a foundational platform around the world for a broad community of developers, IT generalists, entrepreneurs, and individuals who seek the easy, affordable, trusted solutions we provide.

We’ve managed to nurture a team-oriented culture with amazingly low turnover. Our approach is guided by honesty, transparency, and a commitment to doing the right thing. Our customers are happy, and so are our coworkers: In the most recent “Great Place to Work” survey, 94% of our team rated Backblaze as “a great place to work.” Check out what our employees are saying on Glassdoor!

But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. There is a meaningful opportunity to help us expand our content efforts at Backblaze with the goal of making our astonishingly easy solutions accessible to the widest possible audience of developers, businesses, and entrepreneurs. • Act as liaison to Marketing Ops for all production tools—principally the blog—and is the internal advocate for Ops on the Publishing team.

The Ideal Fit:

  • Has 3-5 years or equivalent experience writing and editing for an in-house marketing team, agency, or publication or as a freelance writer and editor.
  • Understands best practices for content development and production.
  • Has some experience working with Wordpress and HTML.
  • Is collaborative and works well with subject matter experts, contributors, and creative teams to produce excellent content.
  • Solidly understands style guides and how to bring them to bear on content, including Chicago Manual of Style (CMS) and Associated Press (AP).
  • Has any experience coordinating with freelancers and contracts.
  • Experience coordinating a content calendar, including creating reports/dashboards within Jira or Airtable (or similar project management tools) for workflow management is a plus.
  • A record of excellent communication and collaboration, preferably in a globally and culturally diverse organization.
  • A love of language and quality narrative content.

What We’ll Do:

  • Integrate you within our broader content team, who will assist you with every element of your job as you learn and grow.
