But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We are seeking a Sr. Data Center Hardware Engineer. 

This position will be based out of our headquarters in San Mateo, California. We are conveniently located near CalTrain, and Highways 280 and 101. Working remotely is also an option on this team. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Part of the team that designs and develops solutions that provides infrastructure-, hardware qualifications-, configuration-, performance- and capacity planning as-a-code
  • Design & implement frameworks for qualifying new hardware (storage and core servers)
  • Design & implement tools to automate infrastructure workflows
  • Design & implement integrations with the hardware we're using to provide more meaningful metrics
  • Share ownership and responsibility for the health of the server fleet, from production verification test through end-of-life.
  • Might occasionally be going to the DC to help DC Techs build/deploy any new hardware and teach them as well

The Right Fit: 

  • 4-7 years of experience in the field 
  • Has experience in identifying systemic hardware, firmware, and tooling issues and improving performance of the fleet
  • Has exposure to working at a technology/software startup.
  • Has experience provisioning and maintaining in large-scale environments.
  • Has experience with Bash, PHP, Python, or Perl
  • Possesses a deep understanding of Linux operating systems and internals
  • Has experience with Hardware Abstraction Layer, HW Engineering, Kernel Engineering, Performance Engineering, Qualification Engineering.
