We are seeking a Senior Technical Editor to help us realize this opportunity.

  • Identify the tools (CMS, project management, etc) and the team necessary to improve and scale our technical documentation work over time
  • Lay the foundation for a team reporting to you and broad structural improvements to documentation
  • With the broader Publishing Team, work to continually align Backblaze content with its brand identity and consistently improve its quality and impact

The Ideal Fit:

  • 3-7 years or equivalent experience creating and maintaining technical product documentation
  • Understanding of best practices for technical documentation and information architecture
  • Flexibility and experience working with multiple CMS as well as using HTML for front end updates
  • Exposure to or experience with source code written in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python or JavaScript.
  • Previous work with or composition of API documentation
  • Understanding of documentation styles, including Chicago Manual of Style (CMS) and Associated Press (AP), and ability to grow and refine in-house style guides
  • Experience growing and managing teams and freelance cohorts
  • A record of excellent communication and collaboration, preferably in a globally and culturally diverse organization
  • A love of language and quality narrative content

How We’ll Help:

  • Team members across Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing are excited to support this effort and see it succeed: You’ll inherit good work and subject matter experts and support services eager to help you thrive.
  • Resources have been laid out to support your work, as you identify needs and growth plans, you’ll be fully provisioned.
