If all that sounds interesting, you might be interested to know that Backblaze is looking for a Frontend Software Engineering Manager!

What you will do:
As a Frontend Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of Software Engineers in architecting, developing, testing and deploying high quality software. You will play a key role in product development, starting from collaborating with stakeholders on feature definition to deployment. Your technical acumen, project management, communication and collaborative skills will help the team to be product-focused and keep deliverables on track.

  • Use best practices in ecommerce development and web technologies to translate UI/UX workflows into working interactive applications, A/B test variants and website experiences.
  • Manage and develop web solutions, promotional material, releases, and initiatives across multiple systems.
  • Ensure frontend development is executed flawlessly across all web presences.
  • Champion the communication between business partners, product managers, marketing and UX teams for seamless development, reliable estimates, QA and technical documentation.
  • Instill and constantly optimize website for best practices in web development

The Right Fit: 

  • 2+ years of management experience leading a software development team.
  • 5+ years of web development experience
  • 5+ years of hand on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES5), Bootstrap (with responsive targets), JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, AngularJS, Angular, React or Vue.js
  • Experience working across functions with organizations such as Operations, Product Management, Sales and Marketing. 
  • Experience in Software development life cycle - Planning, Development, Integration, Validation, Release.
  • Good interpersonal skills to manage projects through difficult obstacles.
  • Leadership to develop, mentor, coach, and grow the team. 
  • Passionate about customer experience
